Redeemer is a congregation of and accountable to the Presbyterian Church in America. We believe the Bible is God's Word, complete without error in the orginal languages of Hebrew and Greek. Pastor Ron, having studied Hebrew and Greek, loves to delve into what God says and relate that to himself and others. As Peter states in his second letter, there are some hard things to understand, but it is important that none of us distort or change what has been written to please ourselves. Also, Peter writes that no Scritpure is of a writer's own interpreatation, but each writer was moved and guided by God, the Holy Spirit.
We hold to the Westminster Confession of Faith, and Shorter and Larger Catechisms as the summaries of what Scripture teaches.
We want participation in worship, so...
1. In singing, we give you the musical score to sing parts if you wish, or to simply know what the next note is to a new song. We also sing, as Paul wrote in the letter to the Colossian church, that we sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Therefore, our music is a variety, but meanigful to the theme of the day.
2. In praying, you express your desire to God silently or audibly.
3. In giving, we pass offering plates to support the mission of our church fellowship and outreach to the community. We support local serving efforts, such as the Center for Pregnancy Concerns and the Helping Hands Food Pantry, as well as, people serving God in other countries and in different ways, such as a husband and wife with the Jesus Film Project in Central and South America; another with Third Millenium Ministries writing to train pastors in some difficult places along with practical booklets for the average person to read; and others working with people groups that have no idea who God is and what He is like.
4. In listening to Pastor Ron give the message from Scripture, we supply Bibles for you to follow along if you like. We also provide a question, comment, and response time for anyone after the service
We welcome all who are weary, wounded, and burdened seeking relief, peace, and comfort from a Savior. We are a group of people recognizing we need God's forgiveness and righteousness in order to be acceptable to Him. We are a group of people interested in cooperating with God's work in us in growing us into the likeness of His Son, Jesus, our only Saviour. We are a group of people who laugh together, cry together, grow and help one another, aren't afraid to show our weaknesses, learn from God working in us, and want to grow our Saviour's kingdom. We are a group of people who seek to love one another as our Saviour has loved us. We are a group of people being changed.
